What to Expect in your Bloom Buckets
So many brides can feel unsure about committing to DIY flowers on their big day. Many times, the uncertainty about DIY comes from sourcing and selection rather than the creative vision or arranging itself. Wondering where to buy bulk flowers, what flowers are in season, what quantities you will need are all ponderings that may hold you back when it comes to undertaking DIY wedding flowers.
But it is possible to DIY your own wedding or event florals and for them to look magical and intentional - it all comes down to choosing the right ingredients. That’s where we come in. At Daydream Green, we know flowers! Purchasing your flowers in bulk directly through a local flower farmer makes sense because a flower farmer knows the right floral ingredients to cut so you can create.
Whether you have a specific colour palette in mind or are happy to take whatever looks best on the day. Our bloom buckets include a mix of everything you need from focal, filler to foliage so you can build something stunning on your special day.
Seasonality
We are a local farm that produces field - grown flowers; this means that we are open to the elements and weather conditions and as a result our flowers are subject to the seasons.
Because of this our Bloom Buckets are seasonal (available November - March) and there are times when certain flowers will not be available. Therefore we can never guarantee a specific flower for your event. There are times of the year when we can expect flowers may be in season, but with growing a natural product, there is always a risk a crop may fail or flower later / earlier than normal.
What you can expect, regardless of the season, is to receive a curated collection of beautiful, fresh flowers in your Bloom Bucket.
To learn more about seasonality and when specific types of flowers will be available, read our Seasonal Bloom Guide.
Colour Palette
Whether you like all white, blush or pops of colour - bloom buckets can be cut to suit the colour theme for your wedding or event.
Here on the farm, we love to lean into the seasons - so you will notice the colours shift from Spring pastels to Summer brights ending with rusty Autumnal tones. We think celebrating the seasons, and embracing these natural colours in your event is a simple way to ensure cohesion and balance in your garden-inspired florals.
Quantity & Stem Length
Our Bloom Buckets include 50 stems of filler style flowers (foliage options are also available). You can also purchase buckets of focal flowers (dahlias) separately and these are priced per stem because they are a premium flower.
It is important to let us know what you are intending to do with your buckets - we can accommodate for most designs but some flowers are more suitable than others depending on if they will be used outdoors for a ceremony or need to last out of water etc.
Majority of flowers will be cut with a 40cm stem length which is standard practice. Some flowers (like Sweet Peas) may have shorter stems and then would be suitable for bud vases or small bouquets. Whereas flowers like Cosmos can be cut with stems up to 70cm if you need them for large urn arrangements.
If you’re looking for sustainable, locally grown flowers handpicked straight from the field - no matter the season, we’ve got a bucket for you. We can’t guarantee your favourite flower will be in season but we can promise to cut you all the necessary ingredients to bring your floral vision to life.
They will be whimsical, garden style blooms selected by a creative grower that understands flowers and design.
